Monica has, in her years of teaching experience from 1993 to 2012, taught CBSE, ICSE, ISC, Free Progress, IGCSE, IBMYP and IBDP Maths.
She started in 1993 with The Mother's International school, Delhi, CBSE. Suffocated with the structure that made Maths fearful and attracted to the teachings of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo, she took a radical decision and left the lucrative job to become a volunteer in Mirambika free progress school in 1999. This is where the foundations of all learning was understood. She spent 3 years as a volunteer at Delhi and Pondicherry. Taking this further, she in 2001 she moved to The Valley school, ISC, a J.Krishnamurti school in Bangalore. 2005 was the time to explore International education. She moved to Pathways world school Aravali and later NOIDA, for IGCSE and IB. This is where she found the fruition of all her efforts in the form of practical systems and models that complimented her grounding in the philosophies of Sri Aurobindo, The Mother and J Krishnamurti.
Throughout her career, she built systems and models to let the students get interested in Maths and therefore succeed. Her base as a teacher has always been value based where she believed that each student is unique and has something great to achieve, and learning Maths ought not to be a hindrance in achieving it. Hence her goals were very individual for each student. She was always known as a reflective teacher in whose classes students lost the fear of Maths. Based on the principle - never give up on a student - she kept adding to her repertoire of strategies based on the students she faced. By 2011, most of her classes were flipped, with students incharge of their own learning. Itching to work with adults, and already into a lot of freelance work, she felt time had come to let go of teaching students and focus on teachers.
